Privacy Policy
Effective Oct 7, 2026
sfhomebuyers.ai is built to collect as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no advertising and no tracking cookies. This policy explains what little we do handle, and how contractors listed from public records can ask for corrections.
1. Information we collect about visitors
- Server and security logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) and DNS provider (Cloudflare) process technical request data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors. These logs are kept for a limited period under those providers' retention settings.
- Emails you send us. If you write to one of our addresses, we receive your email address and whatever you include, and use it only to reply and keep a record of the request.
- What we don't collect. We don't use analytics trackers, advertising pixels or third-party cookies, and we don't build profiles of visitors. Fonts are served from our own domain, and photos are delivered through our own image service, so your browser doesn't contact Google, Unsplash or Pexels when you read the site.
2. How we use it
To run and secure the site, answer your messages, comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use. We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
3. Information about contractors (public records)
The contractor index republishes information that the City and County of San Francisco publishes as public records on DataSF: business name, the business address and phone number on file with permits, California contractor license number, and the permits a firm appears on (permit number, date, work description, declared cost, address and neighborhood of the work). We don't collect this from contractors directly and don't combine it with other sources to identify anyone.
We deliberately leave out property owners and owner-builders named on permits, and we don't display the names of individual employees listed on permits. Work addresses are shown because they are part of the public permit record; they aren't linked to owner names on this site.
4. Corrections and removal requests
If you're listed and something is wrong, or you want your business's contact details hidden, email privacy@sfhomebuyers.ai with the page link and what should change. We'll respond within 30 days. Corrections to the underlying permit record itself need to be made with the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection; once the City updates its data, our next daily sync picks it up.
5. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (including California under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing (we don't sell or share it). We also honor Global Privacy Control signals. To make a request, email privacy@sfhomebuyers.ai; we may need to verify your identity, and we won't treat you differently for exercising your rights. Note that information lawfully made available from government records may be exempt from some of these rights, but we'll still consider any reasonable request.
6. Service providers
We use Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Cloudflare (DNS and email routing) and Namecheap (domain and email forwarding). They process data only to provide their services to us.
7. Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. We keep emails only as long as needed to handle the request, and public-record data for as long as it's relevant (currently, permits from the last 10 years).
8. Children
The site is meant for adults and isn't directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect their information.
9. Changes
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and its effective date.
